Yaser Bushnaq, a former president of the Islamic Association for Palestine, has been indicted in Virginia. The Investigative Project has this report.
The report says the indictment clearly defines the Islamic Association for Palestine as "an overt arm of the cover organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood.
Bushnaq was indicted for nauralization fraud. The indictment alledges that when Bushnaq applied to become a citizen in 2000, he failed to disclose the following:
- He was the IAP's president from 1989-1991.
- That he worked under the pseudonym Yaser Seleh.
- He was a board of trustees member for the Al Aqsa Education Fund, "an organization that sought to raise funds for Hamas."
- He was an authorized signatory for the Marzook Legal Fund, established in 1996 to support Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook after his arrest by U.S. authorities.
The grand jury Eastern District Virginian indicted Bushnaq Sept.12 but not unsealed till last Tuesday. Read the full report at the Investigative Project for many other details. Unfortunately the report also says Bushnaq remains at large.
Bushnaq was also a financial contributer to the campaign of ex-Congresswoman Cynthia Mckinney. Here is the donor list. Interesting names.
