Today Abbas said this:
"Despite all the circumstances we're living through and all the attacks we're experiencing, we insist on peace. There is no other path."

On Wednesday, Feb. 27th, Abbas gave an interview to the Jordanian newspaper Al-Dustur and said this:
"Now we are against armed conflict because we are unable. In the future stages, things may be different..."

To the Western press Abbas insists there is no path but peace. To the Arab press he is opposed to armed conflict because "we are unable." But in the future stages that may be another story.
Abu Iyad, member of PLO, elaborates on the "stages" of the Phased Plan:
" According to the Phased Plan, we will establish a Palestinian state on any part of Palestine that the enemy will retreat from. The Palestinian state will be a stage in our prolonged struggle for the liberation of Palestine on all of it's territories."- Abu Iyad
Establishing a Palestinian state is but a major "stage" in the Phased Plan.
Their goal is to destroy Israel in stages, using a "peace process" to their advantage to that end. As well as ongoing terrorism.
In August 2005, Abbas credited terrorism for Israel's withdrawl from Gaza:
" You have seen with your own eyes the results of your struggle. It is a great thing when someone sacrifices himself for the sake of Allah, the homeland, and the nation, and for the sake of his children, and sees the true compensation with his own eyes...This is a departure from our land, but we will not rest or close our eyes until we see all of the settlers in the West Bank leave it."
In January 2007 Abbas said this:
"We should put our internal fighting aside and raise our rifles only against the Israeli occupation."
In addition Abbas made reference to verses in the Koran when he said this"
" The sons of Israel are mentioned as those who are corrupting humanity on earth."
Abbas has never done anything to confront terrorism against Israel. Despite millions in financial aid.
Like Arafat, Abbas makes public condemnations of terrorism for the Western press. But his actions are opposite. Palestinian Authority TV under his control still promotes a "world without Israel."
