Choose to live in peace.
The reason why there are checkpoints.
The reason why there are roadblocks.
The reason why there is a security barrier, which Arabs call the 'wall', is because of terror and violence against Israelis.
The reason why there are border closings, is again because of violence and terror.
The reason why the refuge camps still exist is because of mismanagement of $ millions and millions of foreign aid that has been squandered. Some of it has lined the pockets of PLO leaders.
A substancial amount of that donor aid money has been used to foster and promote hatred against America and Israel in official Palestinian media and school books.
Why do many Palestinians live in conditions of poverty?
Israel is not to blame.
Palestinians complain about freedom of movement. Complaints about the security barrier, the checkpoints, and roadblocks.
If it was not for the many terrorist attacks against Israelis these things would not exist and there would be no impediment to travel in the region.
Consider this for a moment:
Israel lifts travel restrictions, Palestinians start going to work, to shops, to plants, etc.---And then--an attack is made against Israelis.--And then--the travel restrictions are again tightened.
That terror attack "disrupts" the lives of innocent Palestinians. There fellow Palestinians have engaged in an act of terrorism against Israelis which results in the setting up of roadblocks, checkpoints, etc.
Palestinian violence and terrorism against Israelis harms the lives of Palestinians.
Palestinian terrorism against Israelis causes 'all' Palestinians to lose.
How can Palestinians win?
Choose to live in peace. No treaty needs to be signed to choose to live in peace. No fancy political agreements have to be made to choose peace. You just start doing it.
And if the vast majority, or hopefully 'all' Palestinians, were to be of this frame of mind, not engaging in violence or terror, then after a while, when trust has been gained, the need for such security measures as roadblocks and checkpoints will no longer exist.
Once that happens, Palestinians could have a vibrant economy and lifestyle.
If they choose it. In the past, and in the present they don't.
As long as current Palestinian society continues to honor and glorify terrorists who murder innocent Israelis, as long as Palestinians celebrate 'Nakba', as long as Palestinians engage in violence and terrorism against Israelis, they will only succeed in ruining their own future and their own lives.
Palestinians need to acknowledge Israel's historic ties and rights to Jerusalem and the 'land of Israel'.
In the 7th century it was the Arab Muslims who invaded and "occupied" the broader Middle East from Arabia. The Muslims conducted an "occupation" of the land of Israel, as well as North Africa.
Are not the Muslims in Egypt today primarily of Arabic descent? They are there because their ancestors from Arabia invaded and conducted an "occupation."
This is how Muslims came to be in the land of Israel. Invasion and "occupation."
In June of 1967, for the first time in about 2000 years, Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, were no longer under "occupation" but were restored to Israel by the mighty hand of Almighty God.
There can be a bright hope and future for the Arabs who acknowledge this and choose to live in peace instead of choosing to hate Israel.
