A top leader in the Hamas Islamic terror group endorsed Obama for president saying, " We like Mr. Obama and we hope that he will win the election."
In reponse to a question about the terror group's endorsement, Obama had this to say:
"It's conceivable there are those in the Arab world who say to themselves,-
'This is a guy who spent some time in the Muslim world, has a middle name of Hussein, and appears more worldly and has called for talks with people, and so he's not going to be engaging in the same sort of cowboy diplomacy as George Bush',-
"and that's something their hopeful about. I think that's a perfectly legitimate perception as long as they're not confused about my unyielding support for Israel's security."
Here's my interpretation of Obama's response:
"It's conceivable there are those in the Arab Muslim world who say to themselves,-
'This is a guy who spent some time in the Muslim world, has a middle name of Hussein, and appears more appeasement minded and has said he would talk with Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez, and so he's not going to aggressively fight against Islamic terrorism,'
"and that's something their hopeful about. I think that's a perfectly legitimate perception as long as they're not confused about my lip service support of Israel to help me get elected."
In an interview with David Brooks, Obama stated that both Hamas and Hezbollah have "legitimate claims."
Israellycool wants to ask Obama which parts of the Hamas charter he thinks constitute "legitimate claims."
It is very possible that an Obama presidency would spearhead an attempt to "legitimize" Hamas. In the same reckless appeasement fashion that the PLO itself was wrongly legitimized.

Needless to say, the prospect of an Obama presidency greatly emboldens Islamist terror groups because of the appeasement factor they see in his foreign policy.
An appeasement factor that swallows the Islamic propaganda that turns the villains into the victims, and the real victims into the villains.
