Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas [ Abu Mazen] ordered Al-jazzera in the PA area be shut down. Charging that the Arab network station was being "unbalanced" and "inciting" against the Fatah PA government:
"Abbas's security forces have been systematically targeting journalists over the past few years. In the past year, at least seven Palestinian journalists and writers were arrested and held without trial in PA detention centers for allegedly criticizing the performance of Abbas and his prime minister, Salaam Fayad."
Now when the Abbas Palestinian Authority controlled media engages in the glorification of terrorists and murderers as "heros" [Samir Kuntar], and incitement against Israel, they have no problem with that.
