Mikey Weinstein is founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, the so-called "watchdog" group that opposed the Rev. Franklin Graham's participation in the National Day of Prayer.
Stars and Stripes reported that Weinstein's group was prepared to seek a restraining order against the National Day of Prayer, if in the words of Weinstein it was--
“polluted by someone as hideously Islamophobic as Franklin Graham.”
Weinstein has refered to conservative Christian evangelicals as a "Christian Taliban". [Oh really?]
He is also the author of a book entitled,-
"With God on Our Side: One Man's War Against an Evangelical Coup in America's Military".
"With God on Our Side" is also the title of a new anti-Israel movie that targets evangelicals for their support of Israel.
Mark Tooley over at Frontpage writes the following:
"Anti-Israel activists rightly see American evangelicals as key to U.S. support for Israel. That is why they are targeting evangelicals with messages of pro-Palestinian solidarity as supposedly central to Christian compassion. A new evangelical film, “With God on Our Side,” is coming out this month to rebut pro-Israel Christians and persuade them to champion the Palestinian cause."
Weinstein is also a promoter of that bogus "end-times" slander garbage leveled primarily against evangelicals who are conservative and also support Israel.
In a 2007 interview with Sgt. Brian Kresge, the founder and author of the website Jews in Green, Weinstein made the following "end-times" smear against evangelicals:
"You know, we’re the apple of the eye of the fundamentalists,
[ fundamentalists-that's how the left describes "Biblical" Christians]
"They love us to death. Literally that. They’ve got to place us in Israel. They’ve got to make sure there’s Israeli hegemony over as much as of the Middle East as possible. They have so much to do. Then they have to make sure they can accelerate any conflict to help bring Jesus and G-d and the Holy Spirit back. And then when they come back, the blood runs hip deep. No Jews get to go to heaven at all, we are either forcibly converted or thrown into to lake of fire. But you know all this. "
[Rubbish]
[The above remarks by Weinstein are typical of that bogus "end-times" slander smear directed against "Biblical" Christians who are conservative and support Israel ]
Evangelicals who are true "Biblical" Christians do not believe that when the Messiah Yeshua returns He is going to "forcibly convert" anyone. Jew or Gentile.
And lets be up front and honest, the Bible plainly says there will be many, Jew and Gentile alike, who will oppose God and never repent.
" And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord."-Isaiah 59:20
"...unto them that turn from transgression, [there will be those who won't],
in Jacob, [Israel].
That same bogus "end-times" slander smear has been used by the left to attack both Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee.
With all that's in Weinstein's anti-evangelical resume it is not surprising he would attack the Rev. Franklin Graham.
More on Weinstein over at the ACLJ.
