Towards the end of a 2006 service held in Jerusalem, the Rev. David Wilkerson remarked--
"When we go to heaven I'll say to Paul, 'I walked where you walked, I prayed where you prayed.' And say to David, ' I danced where you danced'."
That of course in reference to Jerusalem where the Rev. David Wilkerson had come to visit.
CBN reports that David Wilkerson has been killed in a car crash in Texas and his wife Gwen is in serious condition. Prayers.
More on the life and legacy of David Wilkerson here.
In a service held in Jerusalem in 2006, Wilkerson lambasted growing anti-semitism against Jews and Israel.
He blasted heretical "replacement theology".
Stated forcefully that 1967 saw a fulfillment of the "times of the Gentiles", in that for the first time in about 2,000 years, Jerusalem is no longer "trodden down of the Gentiles", but has been restored to Israel.
Wilkerson also declared that one of the things mandated from God in the founding of Times Square Church, was the directive to "honor Israel".
Why We Came to Jerusalem-by David Wilkerson
Israel Today remembers David Wilkerson from a 2003 interview:
Here is one small excerpt:
israel today: After the war in Iraq, Israel is once again at the top of the world’s agenda. Do you think the ‘roadmap’ has a chance to bring peace between Israelis and Palestinians?
Wilkerson: No! How can Bush, who knows the Bible, have no fear of God and pressure Israel into territorial compromise for the sake of the roadmap? God will punish him for it. The dollar will fall, Bush will sink into depression and he could very well lose the next election. I pray daily that the President’s believing advisors will influence him more than his political advisors.
["No! How can Bush, who knows the Bible, have no fear of God and pressure Israel into territorial compromise for the sake of the roadmap?"]
A question many have pondered and been perplexed by.
For that matter, how could former president Bush, who knows the Bible, remark that Jews, Christians, Muslims, and those of other religions all worship the same God?
That's not Christianity, that's universalism.
